  Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers? By Dr. B. S. Chakravarthy Doctors are remembered by the world on one special day, but a doctor’s duty continues every single day. Every day, we witness sickness, suffering, anxiety, pain, recovery, hope, and sometimes loss. We investigate, diagnose, treat, counsel, comfort, and guide. We are healers, but we are also scientists, teachers, researchers, mentors, and lifelong learners. Medicine is one of the rare professions where science and compassion must walk together. Evidence tells us what is right. Compassion reminds us why we do it. This year’s Doctors’ Day theme, “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” , is deeply meaningful.
